Life in the Library

IMG_2341

Shhh. Don’t tell anyone, but being a school librarian (who knows what a “media specialist” does anyway?) is the best job in the world. I spend my days teaching kids, talking about books, and helping teachers. And I get to play on the computer.

So far, I’ve worked in school libraries, public libraries, and university libraries. My favorite is right where I am now: an elementary school about a mile from my house that my own kids attend.

Like most librarians (and most writers), I love to read. Ever since I was itty-bitty. In fact, as a kid, my dad always teased me that I would be a librarian someday. That’s because I read all the time—walking home from school, while brushing my teeth, under the table at dinnertime, and under the covers at night.

I keep a book and reading blog for my students here: Mrs. Wojahn Reads. If you’re a kid or a kid-book lover you can hop over there to see what kinds of books and booksy news get my 4th and 5th graders all excited. If you want to see what else I’m reading, click over to Goodreads.
