Presentations and Visits

20150324_231650523_iOSThank you for your interest. I love visiting schools, talking with book clubs, and presenting to teachers, librarians, and writers!

However, in addition to writing books for kids, I work full-time as an elementary school librarian (and am a mom and wife!), so my traveling author visits are close to full for 2016-2017 school year. I’m still fitting in Skype visits or Google Hangouts, though! Please contact me for availability and rates.

Thanks for thinking of me and my books,

15-Minute Book Chats

If your class, school, book club, or group is reading one of my books, I do an informal question and answer session – for free! You supply the questions; I’ll (try to!) supply the answers.

Due to my teaching schedule, my available times are generally limited to before 8am, after 4pm, or during my 30-minute lunch (which is somewhat flexible). I’m on Central Standard Time.

Longer Discussions, Presentations, and/or Writing Workshops

These can be adapted for virtual visits. Click here to see some of the topics I’ve presented on in the past – however, I’m happy to work with you to design a presentation that meets your group’s needs. Contact me below for my rates.

Lots of familiar faces.In-Person

Generally, I do four fifty-minute presentations in a typical day. Topics range from large-group presentations on how my stories became books, to small writers’ workshops for kids, to talking to educators about their reading and writing (here are some of my past presentations, workshops, and visits). However, I’m happy to work with YOU to create something that will have the most meaning for your group. In addition, while I’m at your school, I’d be delighted to eat lunch with a group of students and/or sign books, if there’s interest. Books can be ordered through my publisher(s), your local bookstore, or mine. Contact me below for availability and fees*.

*If you’re located near me – northwestern Wisconsin/the metropolitan Twin Cities area – I waive travel expenses. :)
